Anticipation!
The weather forecasters are predicting a respectable amount of rain for this Labor
Day weekend and with that rain we are expecting a huge find of mushrooms for The
2006 Gary Lincoff Mid-Atlantic Mushroom Foray. Dick and Glen have been as busy
as mushroomers during morel season getting ready for the event. I know that
we're still accepting volunteers for that day as many hands make for light work.
I've only been finding some fairy ring mushrooms in the yard. Those and the occasional
horse mushroom and a Russula or two. My in-laws have a bunch of blue staining boletes
under their chestnut trees. After the rain I'm hoping to find a couple of bushels
of horse mushrooms. It's time to start accumulating mushrooms for Christmas Eve.
