What happened to the stump guy?
Some folks have been wondering what happened to the past president and stump guy.
While one might suspect my absence has been because of Byzantine
politics within the mushroom club it's actually much more exciting. At
the beginning of June my wife and I took over the Herminie Feed and Supply store
renaming it the Herminie Hardware Feed & Supply store.
I have quickly found to be true what I already knew, that when you are your own
boss everyone tells you what to do and your time is not your own. So for the past
month we've been very busy restocking the store and learning the ropes. That has
left no time for mushrooming or gardening. My garden looks like a cultivated weed
patch. My wife did manage to find some fairy ring mushrooms after the last rain.
She likes to scramble them up with eggs for breakfast. Personally I don't find the
fairy ring mushrooms very appealing and would just as soon run the mower over them
as pick them.
