Big Snow March 4th

We have been told of an amateur meteorologist, who has predicted every snowstorm correctly, is now predicting 40 inches of snow on March 4 th.

Just to cheer you up. Onion sets are in and I have ordered the vegetable seed. Seed should be available in about a week.

Oh, the amateur meteorologist has predicted that our last snow will be on April 25 th. Morel season could start late and end early.

I've Been Mushrooming

Well tonight I baked Tilapia with morels, diced tomatoes and green onion tops. Usually we make it without the morels but tonight I wanted to dress it up a bit. Now I'm running low on dried morels and hoping for a fruitful season.

Then there's virtual mushrooming. I've been crawling through the website, pruning out the deadwood, streamlining the navigation and hopefully speeding up the loading of the web pages. While I was working on the web pages I looked at photos of walks and the mushrooms that had been collected on those walks.

If you have photos of WPMC events, meetings or walks please send them to me in order that I might add them to the photo web pages.

It is not the best thing to get mushroom fever too early in the season. After all there is still snow on the ground and the morels are asleep under a blanket of white. As many of you may know I still have a little kid's love of snow. In a month that has broken the record for snow I have not been sledding or cross country skiing once. Too busy, too cold, too much snow (especially if you have to pack it down yourself. Time has also taken it's toll. When I was younger my car was invincible and I was immortal. Sadly I have learned the hard way that neither of those is true.
