Frost out of the ground

A good sign that the frost is out of the ground is the sound of a chorus of peeper frogs that began their serenade last night. Don't count out the onion snow. I'd like to get out on the cross country skis one more time. There's still snow around. I've got to get my trees pruned. The weather set me behind. Two weeks ago I still had about two feet of snow in the orchard.

Where's the snow?

Having parroted the prediction of 40 inches of snow, I should be feeling foolish right now. However, I'd say I was half right. If the temperature would just drop 20 degrees then all of that rain would be...say it....snow.

The signs of spring continue to appear. No not robins, crocus or daffodils. Nope. Onion sets have arrived; seed potatoes have came into and the bulk of the seeds will come in early next week. People are buying them. They've got the fever.

To balance out this enthusiasm for Spring I would just add "Remember the Onion Snow.
